In Chapter 3 A Prince in a Cage, Molly meets her grandmother's pet raven, Balthazar. Molly discovers she can understand everything he says, where as everyone else in the house only heres a sqwauking bird. He explains how Grand Sally rescued him as a chick from her garden. But there is a rather surprising story as to how he ended up there, as Molly finds out.
